Description
Desktop Chartres 11 Circuit Labyrinth
Desktop labyrinth / 10cm diameter
The Chartres labyrinth is believed to have been constructed between 1215-1235 and was widely used as an open-eyed, active meditation tool.
Featuring an asymmetrical, mathematically, and visually complex pattern, each quadrant is unique. The path twists and turns, guiding you towards the center and then back out, creating a spiritual journey on multiple levels. It leads you inward to your own center and then back out into the mundane world, sparking creativity, inspiration, and intuition.
The Chartres 11-circuit labyrinth measures 10cm in diameter. Hand-carved into raw porcelain, glazed, and fired, it fits in the palm of your hand. With the complementary wood stick, you can “walk the labyrinth.”
The layout and architecture of both the cathedral and the labyrinth were meticulously designed to adhere to the principles of sacred geometry.
Sacred Geometry serves as the fundamental building block of our Universe, rooted in mathematics and form. From the farthest reaches of the cosmos to the atomic structure of a single cell within the body, the same laws of form and mathematics apply. Displays of mathematical and geometric constants confirm that certain proportions are woven into the very fabric of nature. Recognizing the significance of this simple fact offers us the means to understand how and why such matters were considered sacred. They, and everything around us, are the product of the delicate balance between chaos and order.
